The aim of this thematic issue is to reflect on the ways in which the francophone literature in a diglossic situation scan embraces the concept of world literature. The problems related to the world literature has been widely debated since the early 2000s, but it is still taken in a Western perspective of ethnocentrism. Taking into account, on the one hand, the particular case of the decentralized francophone literature and on the other hand the Nordic perspective, we would like to revisit the theories defining World literature by focusing on the local, regional and transnational aspects of this literature. By going through this perspective, we will help redefine the place of French literature in world literary history.
